If so, check out the following information about The Royal Court and it's Theatre Local programme.

The Royal Court is a leading force in world theatre, finding and producing new plays that are original, contemporary and challenging. It is an artistically led theatre that creates the conditions for writers, nationally and internationally, to flourish.

THEATRE LOCAL HOSTS
Responsible to: the Theatre Manager and TL Duty Managers.
The Royal Court is the home of the English Stage Company Limited (ESC) and is the UK’s leading theatre dedicated to new writing.
The Royal Court aims to find and produce new plays, which are original, contemporary and challenging. It is an artistically led theatre, which creates the conditions for writers, nationally and internationally, to flourish and it seeks to find the widest audience for this work.
The Company’s annual turnover is £5.67 million (2009/10) and up to 14 plays a year are staged between two theatre spaces (the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs and the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs) at the Royal Court’s home on Sloane Square. The Royal Court has enjoyed a phenomenal period of success, including three West End transfers (Enron, Jerusalem and Clybourne Park) and more Olivier wins and nominations than any other UK theatre last year. Over 100,000 people visit the Royal Court every year and many thousands more see our work elsewhere, including transfers to the West End and abroad, international touring, visits to regional and other London theatres, and site-specific work including a recent season in the Elephant and Castle shopping centre.
Through its Studio and International Playwrights Programme, a significant amount of play development activity takes place year-round. This work aims to find and nurture the most talented new writers and develop the highest quality plays, for which the Royal Court is internationally renowned. There are two biannual festivals dedicated to work by young writers under the age of 26 and International playwrights, a specific works-in-progress season (Rough Cuts) and an ongoing programme of writers attachments, readings, workshops and playwriting groups.
The Royal Court Theatre also has two commercial subsidiaries, Royal Court Theatre Productions Ltd (RCTP), which facilitates the transfer of ESC productions to the West End and ESC Catering Limited set up to run the catering operation at the theatre.
THEATRE LOCAL
Theatre Local is a new strand of the Royal Court’s work, which involves taking productions out of our Sloane Square home and placing them in alternative spaces at the heart of London life. The aim of this initiative is twofold – to open the work of the Royal Court up to a wider and more diverse audience than we are able to attract to Sloane Square, and to give the writers and practitioners that work with us the opportunity to experience their work in new contexts.
Following a successful run last autumn, the Theatre Local project will return to the Bussey Building, in Peckham Rye, from May to late-July 2012 with two productions; Bola Agbaje’s Belong and Vera Vera Vera by Hayley Squires.
Make sure you check out the page on the Royal Court website for more information on this brilliant opportunity and details on how to apply, just click the title of this post!
